About Northeast Minneapolis

Northeast Minneapolis is a diverse community of many cultures, faiths, and ages.  Since its advent of becoming a unique community, until now, during its revitalization, the area has been home to many-alike.  Those who call Northeast home are accustomed to its rich and diverse cultures, which were once visible block-by-block and church-by-church a just a few decades ago, but now are primarily reduced to a few remaining restaurants and shops that still bear the traditional family names and customs.  Still today, the area is called home by many diverse peoples in a unique community.  According to  the June issue of Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine, Northeast Minneapolis "is on a roll"  and the magazine gives high praises to the networks of neighborhoods, saying that "Northeast's biggest amenity may be the connection between residents."  The article continues with affirmations of locals, and individual perspectives on the area.

Part of the uniqueness is rooted in the diverse peoples who comprise the community, yet another part of the uniqueness comes from the location.  Northeast Minneapolis is located just blocks from the Mississippi River.  Nestled into the hills and banks are beautiful parks and other recreational outlets which are a part of this neighborhood and area.  Additionally, as you can see from the above photograph, St. Boniface Church is also just blocks away from the beautiful city of Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis Campus.

Our parish community shares in both the beauty of the physical geography of Northeast Minneapolis and the beauty in the diversity of the people that we serve in Northeast Minneapolis. Seasoned member of the community, university student, visitors alike -- welcome to our area and our parish community!
